WILL USYK RETIRE AFTER FURY AND JOSHUA?

OLEKSANDR USYK, the unified heavyweight champion, has made it clear that he's only interested in facing two opponents: TYSON FURY and ANTHONY JOSHUA. Speaking to Seconds Out, Usyk stated that he has no desire to fight anyone else and believes it’s time for the younger generation to step up. His focus is solely on his rematch with Fury on December 21st, and possibly a third fight with Joshua, assuming Joshua wins his bout against DANIEL DUBOIS on September 21st.

Usyk, who has already achieved tremendous success in his career, including winning an Olympic gold medal and unifying all four world titles at both cruiserweight and heavyweight,

has little left to prove. He expressed that beyond these two fights, nothing else is of interest to him. "From now on, let the youth get fit and work," Usyk said, emphasizing his intent to pass the torch to the next generation of fighters. If Usyk wins these last two bouts and retires, he could join the elite list of boxers who ended their careers unbeaten, with a perfect 24-0 record.

However, both Fury and Joshua have other plans. Fury is determined to avenge his loss, while Joshua remains confident he can finally defeat Usyk in a potential third matchup. As Usyk approaches what might be the final chapter of his career, the boxing world eagerly anticipates whether he can leave the sport with an unblemished record.
