About

Savannah Marshall is a British professional boxer who has achieved remarkable feats in her career. She is the former WBO female middleweight champion, a title she won in October 2020 by stopping Hannah Rankin in seven rounds.

She defended her belt once, against Maria Lindberg in April 2021, before vacating it to move up in weight. She is also the first British female world champion in amateur boxing, a historic accomplishment she earned in May 2012 at the World Championships in Qinhuangdao, China. There, she also became the only boxer to defeat the legendary Claressa Shields, who went on to win two Olympic gold medals and multiple world titles.

She also won the gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, beating Ariane Fortin of Canada in the final. She is known as the ‘Silent Assassin’ for her knockout power and her shy personality. She has a record of 12 wins, 10 by knockout, and one loss in her professional career, which began in 2017.

She is currently ranked as the world’s second best active female middleweight by BoxRec and by The Ring.
