Ryan Garcia is a professional boxer from the United States of America. He has an undefeated boxing record of 21 wins in 21 fights. He is considered one of the best active lightweight boxers as of October 2021. From January to May 2021, he held the WBC Interim Lightweight title.

As an amateur boxer, Garcia was the National Amateur Champion fifteen times. He has an impressive amateur record of 215-15.

On June 16, 2016, Garcia fought in his first professional bout. He was 17 and it was against Edgar Meza. The fight was held in Tijuana. He won that fight via TKO.

After that fight, he was signed by Golden Boy Promotions. He debuted for Golden Boy in December 2016. Golden Boy extended his contract for an undisclosed amount in September 2019.

He has an undefeated record of 21 wins. Some of his more notable fights include the fight against Romero Duno which was held in September 2019. He won this fight and he got his first WBC Silver Lightweight title.

On Valentine’s Day in 2020, he met up and won against Francisco Fonseca. He went up against Luke Campbell in January 2021. It was originally scheduled for December 2020 but was pushed back due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Campbell fight is notable because it gave Garcia the first knockdown as a professional fighter. It ended in a win for Garcia, giving him the WBC Lightweight Title. It was also the last professional fight for Campbell before he announced his retirement from boxing.

In February 2022, it was announced that Garcia will be going up against Emmanuel Tagoe in April.

Personal Life

Garcia was born on August 18, 1998, in Victorville, California. He stands 178 cm and his reach is as long as he is tall. He has an orthodox stance and he has participated in both the Lightweight and Super Featherweight categories. He is an American of Mexican descent.

Nicknamed “The Flash” and “Queen Ry”, he started boxing at a young age. He is the brother of Sean Garcia who is also a professional boxer. His parents are very involved in his career with his father serving as his trainer and his mother as his Personal Administrative Assistant. He is also trained by Eddy Reynoso.
