About

Naoya Inoue is one of the most exciting and dominant boxers in the world today. He is the former Three-division World Champion and the Former Undisputed Bantamweight World Champion, and has also held titles in the light flyweight and super flyweight divisions. He is known for his explosive power, speed, and accuracy, earning him the nickname “The Monster”.

Inoue started boxing at the age of five, following his father and older brother, who were both amateur boxers. He won several national tournaments as a junior and made his professional debut in 2012, at the age of 19. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning his first world title in his sixth fight, becoming the WBC light flyweight champion. He then moved up two weight classes and captured the WBO super flyweight title in his eighth fight, knocking out Omar Narvaez in two rounds. He defended that belt seven times, before moving up again to challenge for the WBA bantamweight title in 2018. He knocked out Jamie McDonnell in the first round, becoming a three-weight world champion.

Inoue then entered the World Boxing Super Series, a tournament featuring eight of the best bantamweights in the world. He won all four of his fights by knockout, defeating Juan Carlos Payano, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Nonito Donaire, and John Riel Casimero. He unified the WBO, WBC, WBA, The Ring¬† and IBF titles, and also won the Muhammad Ali Trophy as the tournament winner. His fight with Donaire was widely regarded as one of the best fights of 2019, and showcased Inoue’s courage and resilience, as he overcame a broken nose and orbital bone to win by unanimous decision.

Inoue is currently ranked as the best active bantamweight by several boxing publications, and as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He has a record of 24 wins and no losses, with 21 wins by knockout. He is widely admired by fans and fellow boxers for his skills, power, and humility. He is considered one of the most formidable champions in boxing today.
