About

Lee McGregor is one of the most promising young boxers in the UK. He is the current British and Commonwealth bantamweight champion, and has a perfect record of 11 wins and no losses. He is also ranked in the top 10 by the WBA, WBC, and IBF.

McGregor was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on June 4, 1997. He grew up in a tough neighborhood, where he learned to fight from an early age. He was inspired by his grandfather, who was a former boxer and a coach at the Lochend Boxing Club. McGregor started training at the club when he was seven years old, and soon showed his talent and dedication.

He had a successful amateur career, winning several national and international titles. He represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he won a bronze medal. He also competed at the 2015 European Games in Baku, where he reached the quarter-finals.

McGregor turned professional in 2017, signing with promoter Barry McGuigan and trainer Shane McGuigan. He made his debut on October 6, 2017, against Kamil Jaworek at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh. He won by knockout in the first round.

He quickly rose through the ranks, winning his first title in his fifth fight. He defeated Thomas Essomba by unanimous decision to win the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title on October 13, 2018, at the York Hall in London. He defended the title twice, against Iain Butcher and Cristian Narvaez, both by knockout.

He then challenged Kash Farooq for the British bantamweight title on November 16, 2019, at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. The fight was billed as a historic clash between two unbeaten Scottish champions. McGregor won by a controversial split decision, after knocking down Farooq in the seventh round. Many observers felt that Farooq deserved the victory, but McGregor insisted that he was the rightful winner.

He added another belt to his collection on February 22, 2020, when he faced Ryan Walker for the vacant WBC International Silver bantamweight title at the York Hall. He dominated the fight from start to finish, stopping Walker in the fifth round.

McGregor is not only a talented boxer, but also a humble and respectful person. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Courtney, and they have a son named Leo. He is also involved in various charitable causes, such as supporting children with cancer and raising awareness about mental health.

McGregor is one of the brightest stars of British boxing, and has a bright future ahead of him. He is determined to make his mark on the sport and become a world champion.
