Emerging Mayo boxing talent, Eoghan Lavin, has officially entered the professional boxing arena, marking a significant milestone in his career. The 20-year-old Ballyhaunis BC graduate, known for his nine Irish titles and a 2017 European schoolboy medal win, has joined the ranks of professional fighters.
Lavin will receive training from former world champion Anthony Crolla at his Manchester-based gym, adding a touch of boxing royalty to his corner. His decision to turn professional comes with a multi-year promotional contract with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions, a renowned promotional powerhouse in the boxing world.
In a unique twist, Lavin will be co-managed by Anthony Joshua’s 258 Management and David McGinley Sport. This makes him the first-ever fighter managed by Joshua to be promoted by Frank Warren, creating an exciting collaboration between two influential entities in the sport.
Taking to his Facebook page, Lavin expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career, stating, “The beginning of an exciting professional career promoted by hall of fame promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions live on TNT Sports.”
With his impressive track record in Irish boxing circles, Lavin is poised for an impactful professional journey. The combination of training under Crolla, management by Joshua’s team, and promotion by Warren sets the stage for potential big nights in Lavin’s boxing future.
