About

Caroline Sara Dubois, born on January 11, 2001, is a accomplished British professional boxer with an impressive amateur background. She has achieved remarkable success as a youth boxer, holding titles such as the Youth Olympic champion, World Youth champion, and four-time European Youth champion. Notably, she is the younger sibling of heavyweight boxer Daniel Dubois.

Raised in a family of eleven children, Caroline Dubois was brought up in a single-parent household by her father, originally from Grenada. Her journey into boxing began at the age of nine. While her city had all-girl amateur boxing clubs, her father insisted she train at a top-tier club where her older brother Daniel had honed his skills. Initially, she even assumed a male alias, going by the name Colin during her early months at the Repton Amateur Boxing Club.

Caroline Dubois’ amateur career boasts numerous achievements. At the 2017 European Junior Championships, she secured the title with a unanimous points decision victory over Nune Asatrian in the final. In the following year, she triumphed at the English National Youth Championships (60 kg), clinching another unanimous points decision win, this time against Ellis Hopkins. Her accomplishments continued as she became England’s first World Youth Champion in August 2018, defeating Asatrian with a unanimous points decision. Dubois also clinched the gold medal in the Girls’ lightweight category at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, emerging victorious in the final against Porntip Buapa.

The year 2019 saw Caroline Dubois excel at the European Youth Championships, securing a unanimous points win over Amina Abramova in the semi-final and claiming the title with a split decision victory over Asatrian in the final. Her success continued with a unanimous decision win against Wenessa Orczwk in the final of the England Boxing National Youth Championships. As of February 2020, Dubois remained undefeated in her amateur career and expressed her ambition to transition into professional boxing.

Caroline Dubois received recognition and accolades for her achievements. She was honored with the SportsAid One-to-Watch award for 2018, selected from a pool of approximately 1,000 candidates across 60 sports, nominated by their respective sport’s governing bodies. She was also named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2019. Dubois qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics at the 2020 European Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament, earning a silver medal after a split decision loss to Kellie Harrington in the final. At the time of her transition to the professional ranks, she boasted an impressive amateur record of 37 wins and 3 losses.
