On June 13, 2019, Melikuziev embarked on his professional boxing journey by facing the experienced Argentine fighter Martin Fidel Rios. In an impressive debut, Melikuziev secured victory by knocking Rios out with a left hand to the body in the opening round. Continuing his winning streak, Melikuziev’s second professional bout was against Ricardo Adrian Luna Flores on August 30, 2019. He clinched a first-round victory after delivering a series of powerful body shots that led to two knockdowns, ultimately rendering Luna Flores unable to continue.

Moving forward, on November 2, 2019, Melikuziev participated in his third professional fight as part of the undercard for Canelo Álvarez vs Sergey Kovalev. His opponent was Clay Collard, and Melikuziev achieved a fourth-round technical knockout by strategically targeting Collard’s body with heavy shots.

Melikuziev’s endurance was tested for the first time in his career when he faced Vaughn Alexander on December 13, 2019. He emerged victorious via a wide unanimous decision, winning every round on all three scorecards.

February 14, 2020, saw Melikuziev in a bout against Oscar Cortes. He swiftly knocked down Cortes in the opening round with a right hand to the head, and later secured another knockdown with a powerful body shot, prompting the referee to halt the fight.

In his sixth professional contest, held on October 30, 2020, Melikuziev faced Alan Campa and emerged triumphant with a third-round knockout.

A highly anticipated match against former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev was scheduled for January 30, 2021. However, the fight was canceled due to Kovalev testing positive for a banned substance. Subsequently, Melikuziev faced Morgan Fitch on February 13, 2021, and secured victory with a third-round knockout, sending Fitch to the canvas twice.

One of Melikuziev’s most challenging opponents was American veteran Gabriel Rosado on June 19, 2021. Despite knocking Rosado down in the first round and initially appearing in control, Melikuziev faced an unexpected turn of events. Rosado delivered a powerful overhand right in the third round that caught Melikuziev off guard, resulting in a knockout loss. The stoppage of the fight was widely regarded as a contender for Knockout of the Year.
