About

Alycia Baumgardner is one of the most dominant and exciting female boxers in the world today. She is the undisputed super featherweight champion, holding all four major belts (WBC, WBO, IBF, and IBO) as well as The Ring magazine title. She is also the first American woman to achieve this feat in any weight class. In this blog post, we will take a look at her remarkable career and achievements, as well as her personal life and background.

Baumgardner was born on May 24, 1994, in Fremont, Ohio. She is of mixed heritage, with her mother being of German, Japanese and Korean descent, and her father being African-American. She started boxing at the age of eight, inspired by her father who was a former amateur boxer. She had a successful amateur career, winning the welterweight silver medal at the 2014 National Golden Gloves tournament, and the lightweight gold medal at the 2014 U.S. National PAL Championships.

She turned professional in 2017, and quickly made a name for herself with her explosive power and charisma. She won her first six fights by knockout, including a first-round stoppage of Britain Hart in her debut. She captured her first professional title in 2018, when she defeated Nydia Feliciano by unanimous decision for the vacant WBC International super featherweight title. She suffered her only loss later that year, when she lost a close decision to Christina Linardatou in her first title defense.

She bounced back from that setback with three consecutive wins in 2019, two by knockout and one by unanimous decision. She then had a long layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned to action in 2021 with a bang. She challenged Terri Harper for the WBC and IBO super featherweight titles on November 13, 2021, and scored a sensational fourth-round knockout that was voted as the Female Knockout of the Year by the WBC. She became the first woman to defeat Harper, who was unbeaten in 11 fights and had defended her titles four times.

Baumgardner then signed a multi-fight deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, and set her sights on becoming the undisputed champion. She got her chance on February 4, 2023, when she faced Mikaela Mayer for the WBO, IBF, and The Ring super featherweight titles in a historic unification bout. Baumgardner put on a masterclass performance, outboxing and outlanding Mayer throughout the fight. She dropped Mayer twice in the ninth round, and won by unanimous decision with wide scores of 100-88, 99-89, and 98-90.

Baumgardner is now widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound female fighters in the world, and has earned praise from fans and media alike for her skills, power, speed, and personality. She is also an advocate for women’s empowerment and equality in sports and society. She has stated that she wants to inspire young girls and women to pursue their dreams and goals, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Baumgardner is currently based in Philadelphia, where she trains with coach Anthony Rodriguez. She has a record of 14 wins (7 by knockout) and one loss. She is nicknamed “The Bomb” because of her dynamite punching power. She is also known for her colorful hair styles and tattoos. She is a fan of anime and manga, and often wears costumes inspired by her favorite characters.

Baumgardner is undoubtedly one of the most exciting stars in boxing today, and has a bright future ahead of her. She has already made history as the undisputed super featherweight champion, but she is not satisfied with that. She has expressed her desire to move up in weight and challenge other champions, such as Katie Taylor or Amanda Serrano. She has also said that she wants to fight in Japan someday, as she loves the culture and the fans there.

Baumgardner is a boxer who combines skill, power, charisma, and passion. She is a champion who represents diversity, excellence, and inspiration. She is Alycia Baumgardner.
