O’Shaquie Foster is gearing up to defend his WBC World Super-Featherweight title against Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez at the Benito Juárez Sports Center in Cancun, Mexico, set to take place on Saturday, October 28. Fans can catch all the action live on DAZN, in partnership with Pepe Gomez and Cancun Boxing.

Foster (20-2, 11 KOs) claimed the vacant title earlier this year in San Antonio, Texas, making history by becoming the first fighter to outscore the Mexican sensation, Rey Vargas. Now, the champion hailing from Houston is preparing to face another formidable Mexican contender in his inaugural title defense. This fight also adds to Foster’s global footprint as it marks the fourth country he’s competed in within his last seven fights.

Hernandez (34-1, 31 KOs) is eagerly anticipating his mandatory challenge against Foster, especially on his home turf. ‘Rocky’ is renowned for his knockout power and has maintained an impressive winning streak, with his most recent victory being a third-round knockout against Hector Garcia in Monterrey this past July.

Foster expressed his enthusiasm, declaring, “King Shock is ready to step into the spotlight once again! I’m excited to defend my title. Embracing the challenge of entering unfamiliar territory, I’m eager to reaffirm my status as the world’s best. On October 28, I’ll assert my dominance!”

Hernandez echoed a similar sentiment, stating, “I’ve always dreamed of this moment. Foster is the top champion in the 130lbs category. Once I defeat him, I’ll establish myself as the division’s standout.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn chimed in, saying, “This fight promises to be an explosive showdown in Cancun. With O’Shaquie’s high spirits following his victory over an elite opponent like Vargas and Rocky’s aggressive style, overpowering all his rivals, this bout won’t disappoint. They are both hungry for success. Mark your calendars for October 28; it’s going to be another unforgettable night of boxing in Mexico.”
