Two-time Featherweight World Title contender Michael Conlan is set to make his return to the SSE Arena Belfast, where he will face former European and Commonwealth Champion Jordan Gill in a highly anticipated Irish boxing event on Saturday, December 2. This exciting matchup will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.

Conlan (18-2, 9 KOs) was last in action in May, suffering a fifth-round stoppage loss to Mexico’s IBF Featherweight World Champion, Luis Alberto Lopez. This defeat marked his second consecutive World Title loss, with the first being his memorable Fight of the Year clash with Leigh Wood in 2022. Conlan is now back, training under the guidance of Cuban-American coach Pedro Diaz, and he plans to rebuild his career in the Super-Featherweight division as he seeks another shot at a World Title.

Gill (27-2-1, 8 KOs), on the other hand, is returning to the ring for the first time since his fourth-round stoppage loss to Spain’s two-weight World Champion, Kiko Martinez, at Wembley Arena in October 2022. The Chatteris native is determined to make a strong comeback and hopes to reposition himself as a contender for World Title opportunities by upsetting the hometown hero, Conlan.

The event’s undercard promises more thrilling action, including Belfast Super-Welterweight contender Caoimhin Agyarko (13-0, 7 KOs) taking on Darlington’s former British Champion Troy Williamson (20-1-1, 14 KOs), a highly anticipated all-Belfast showdown at 147lbs between Tyrone McKenna (23-3-1, 6 KOs) and Lewis Crocker (17-0, 10 KOs), and a ten-round Super-Lightweight clash featuring local favorite Sean McComb (17-1, 5 KOs) facing Liverpool’s former British and Commonwealth Champion, Sam Maxwell (17-2, 11 KOs).

Michael Conlan expressed his excitement about returning to the SSE Arena Belfast and facing Jordan Gill in what promises to be a great fight. Gill is equally enthusiastic about the opportunity to showcase his skills and make a statement in Belfast. Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn is thrilled to bring this event to Belfast, marking two consecutive weeks of Irish boxing action and anticipating an electrifying night of fights for fans worldwide, all live on DAZN.
